Headaches & Migraine

Headaches and migraines are some of the most common reasons that people come to see us at Windsor Chiropractic.

They can impact every part of your life, making it difficult to work, exercise or enjoy time with family and friends.

There are many possible causes of headaches and migraines, including structural/postural problems, stress, dysautonia (dysfunction of the autonomic nervous system) etc, with underlying pathology being much less common.

Can Chiropractic Help?

Migraine and cervicogenic headaches (where pain develops in the neck but is felt in the head) can respond favourability to chiropractic care (1). In our experience, both of these conditions can have seemingly multiple contributing factors and respond to a combination of treatments and lifestyle changes.

As part of your first visit to our office, our chiropractor will take your full medical history and carry out a thorough physical examination to determine if they are able to help you. In some cases, they will recommend that you have x-rays taken to assist their findings and recommendations.

One new and developing treatment area looks at the importance of the Autonomic Nervous System (ANS). It is believed now by many researchers that migraine in particular, is associated with dysfunction of the ANS. We address this relationship in our Adapt-Ability workshops which look at evidenced-based ways to improve your autonomic nervous system's health and adaptability.
